Material Marquetry

"Material Marquetry" is the 5th Place award-winner in the 2005 "Seven Sisters New Quilts from an Old Favorite" contest. The upcoming book, "Seven Sisters New Quilts from an Old Favorite" will be released in March, 2005, and will feature this quilt and others from the contest. The quilt will be exhibited at the Museum of the American Quilters' Society March through June, 2005, and will travel to other venues through December, 2006.

Material Marquetry is an innovative Seven Sisters design. Cotton fabrics, wool batting, cotton thread. Original feather quilting designs inspired by Infinite Feathers, by Anita Shackleford, and drawn using the Infinite Feathers quilting design template. Over 9,000 feet of thread was used for the quilting.
