Stars In My Hand
Private Collection
Stars In My Hand is an anniversary quilt for someone in my family. The title comes from an anonymous quote I discovered on the internet:
"If I could reach up and touch a star for every time you've made me smile, the entire evening sky would be in the palm of my hand."
The crystal urns in the corners of the quilt are Diane Gaudynski quilting motifs, along with a small sleeping cat. Many of the feather designs were inspired by Diane's work as well, and drawn with the aid of Anita Shackelford's Infinite Feathers Template.
There are twelve motifs around the outside edges of the quilt, symbolic wishes for the couple's continued happiness. These motifs have been photographed to create a very special collection of notecards, framed art tiles, ornaments and art prints called Quilted Whispers.
To see the Quilted Whispers Collection of notecards, framed art tiles and ornaments featuring motifs from this quilt, go to The Quilt Shop at DreamWeaver's Quilts. Customized greeting cards for announcements, invitations, and seasonal greetings are also available!
Net proceeds from the sale of items featuring artwork from this quilt will be donated to the New Mexico Chapter of the ALS Association, to help in finding a cure for Lou Gehrig's Disease.
